One of the biggest draws for those wanting to live in Dubai is the wide variety of beaches found
in the emirate. Dubai is a prime destination for beach lovers due to its location beside the
Arabian Gulf, whose crystal clear waters provide an ideal setting for swimming, diving and other
marine activities. Some of the most popular beaches, unfortunately, are private beaches owned by
hotels and are accessible only to guests; but there are many public beaches that are free or
charge a small entrance fee that provide decent facilities.
Here are some of the areas beach lovers should consider when renting a beachfront apartment in
Dubai.
Palm Jumeirah. This is a man-made island that gets its name from the fact that its shape
resembles a palm tree. Renting an apartment here provides you with communal access to the beach.
There are two types of accommodations available here: medium-rise apartments and villas.
Jumeirah Beach Residence. This is a massive residential development that has high-rise apartment
towers in six clusters that overlook “The Walk”, a beach front promenade where you can find many
restaurants, retail outlets, hotels and cafes. Each cluster includes facilities such as a gym
and swimming pool. In addition, there is easy access to the metro.
The JBR is an ideal choice for single people since it has a party vibe that makes you feel like
you are always on holiday. In addition, shops and other amenities are within walking distance so
you don’t need to have a car.
Jumeira and Umm Suqueim. The accommodations for rent in this area are mainly older villas with
beaches within walking distance. Villas are organized into small compounds, each of which has
its own swimming pool and garden.
This is a good choice for expatriates with families since the villa apartments are more spacious
and even include rooms for domestic helpers. Another advantage is that it is located in a
central area with easy access to the city and there are many schools in the neighborhood. While
it is not easily accessible to the metro, it is not hard to get taxis.
